Güner Mutaf was born in Ankara in 1947. He graduated from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning of the Faculty of Architecture in METU in 1970. He also had a Master’s Degree of the Department of Architecture in 1973. As of 1974, he started to work on establishing the Department of Industrial Design in METU along with Mehmet Asatekin. Until his death in 2014, he created several furniture and industrial designs.
